The road into the pretty fishing village of Annalong is lined with dull modern houses. Turn down quickly to the marine park and harbour where a cornmill is working away at the river mouth. Annalong and the picturesque harbour was enlarged in the 1880s to cope with increased granite exports.

466. Ardglass
Ardglass, with its magnificent harbour, is one of three major fishing ports in Northern Ireland. Considerable development of the harbour has taken place in recent years and much of the catch brought into the port is exported throughout Europe. The town has many sporting and social attractions and has become popular over the years for its many water based activities, including an important base for sea angling.

The wide streets of Ballynahinch were laid out in about 1640 by the Earls of Moira, whose former seat, Montalto, is to the South. From the stump on Windmill Hill you can see across the valley to the wooded demesne of Montalto.
